Getting in the omega 3’s (day 5)

Hi there!

Yay it’s Friday!

It’s also Friday the 13th, uh oh hope nothing weird goes on….dun dun dun!

No problems here though.  Got in a nice dog walk and made a super healthy and tasty dinner.  Since we are here at Day 5 of my 21 Day Fix Extreme, a quick recap is in order.  It’s going pretty well.  I’m not feeling too hungry because Shakeology meals keep me full and satisfied and the containers are really helping with portion control.  I’ve been doing Body Pump and getting in runs so I haven’t done all of the workout videos but the 30 minute videos are quick and gets the job the done!

Snow capped mountains (day 4)

Hi there!

Happy Fridayeve!  Yes, I know I’m not working yet so why be excited?  Well, I love Friday’s at home with my hubby.  Usually on the couch with the dogs and watching a movie which is one of my favorite places.

I went to Body Pump this morning then did 2 miles of HIIT on the treadmill.  I have this awesome 20 minute workout that I do which makes the time fly by.  After coming home, showering and making lunch the dogs and I went for a walk.

To continue making the 21 Day Fix Extreme a success, I made sure to plan my meals according to the portion control containers so that I was prepared.

Getting motivation back (day 1)

Hi there!

How was your Monday?  Monday’s have not been good for me, lately.  My motivation has been, well, MIA but that all changed today with some planning yesterday.

I planned our meals for the week, planned my workouts, joined a new challenge group and got myself all ready for…..21 Day Fix Extreme! Jump over to my new Coaching page for more information about Beachbody but I am also going to recap my meals and workouts for the next 21 Days.  I had “sorta” started last Monday and was pretty good with my workouts but my diet was not great.  I eat healthy but I have to kick my sweet tooth because I know that is what is holding me back on my toning up fitness goals.

I joined another challenge group (more on that in a few) so that I could be a better participant and find motivation to tone up before the holidays weigh me down.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with a treat here or there especially with the holidays but I want to make better choices using Shakeology shakes to curb my sweet tooth.  I plan to try lots of recipes for my shakes because let’s face it a basic shake can be a little boring, ’emm I right?!?!?

So how did I kick off Monday on the right foot?  Well, I planned everything out on Sunday to be prepared for the day.

  • Workout planning
  • 21 Day Fix Extreme planning

Okay here it goes!

Day 1

Workout – Plyo Fix Extreme

Fix

Breakfast – Banana and Peanut Butter Oatmeal (1 purple, 1 yellow, 1 tsp)

Breakfast Before

Breakfast After

Lunch – Apple Pie with Shakeology Vanilla (1 purple, 1 red)

Lunch before

Shake After

Snack – Carrots (1 green)

Dinner – Salmon, green beans, mashed potatoes (1 red, 1 green, 1 yellow)

I had dinner at my friends house and see cooked a wonderful meal as mentioned above.  Unfortunately I did not get a picture and we also had 2 pieces of chocolate afterwords which I will use as my blue container for “fats.”

At first the cups seem really small but it helped to plan my whole day ahead of time to make sure I was using them correctly and then portioned things out which is the first picture in each group.  The second picture is of course after I prepared the meal and it makes for a filling meal but also helped me stay very aware of where little things can creep into my daily eating and how to avoid it.

So I mentioned joining a Challenge Group earlier and it’s a private facebook group where we post recipes, check-in after a workout, get motivation, ask questions and meet other people going through the same process.  It has been fun meeting others “online” all over the country who work full-time, have kiddos, are motivation challenged or just people who will just help keep me accountable.  I mean, posting that I got my workout done and getting ideas for 21 Day Fix approved recipes is awesome!

Wedding Wednesday

Hey There!

So we did get another big now storm yesterday that continued on through the night.  Seriously so sick of this weather!  I especially feel bad for our two dogs that have the worst case of cabin fever since we barely take them outside longer than a quick potty break because it’s just so cold.  I will be so happy when the wind and below zero temps stop so we can go outside for some much needed puppy walks.  On the plus side though, we did get our honeymoon booked to a tropical location this December so I will just have to dream about that for now…..more on wedding stuff later.

This morning I wasn’t in a rush to get to work early because I knew it would be best to wait a bit until the roads/parking lots were plowed.  Body Pump was cancelled (love that my gym keeps me updated with posts on FB!) so I decided to try out the Pyramid workout I posted yesterday and ran 7 miles instead of the 5 I planned on.  WOW!  This workout kicked my butt, but in a good way.  I ran 7 miles in 57 minutes which was an overall pace of 8:09.  I’m definitely not a fast runner by any means but I’m liking the numbers I have been seeing lately because it’s showing progress!  Before my run I had a quick cup of coffee and half of an English muffin with some almond butter.  I also brought a bottle of water with half a scoop of Accelerade Orange to keep me hydrated and help my endurance.  breakfast 2.5 - USEOnce I got to work I made some “oatmeal” my version of oatmeal includes half of a sweet potato cooked, 1/2 banana, protein powder and flax seed.  I mix all the ingredients together and microwave until hot, stirring a couple of times in-between.  It’s really good!  I ate most of it before remembering to take a picture..oopps.Sweet potato oatmeal - USEI forgot lunch today but luckily I had some veggies and hummus at work from yesterday.  I also had a EAS Shake in my desk which made for a quick and easy lunch.  The hummus was actually very feeling so this kept me full until about 4pm. lunch - USEI had Silk yogurt as a snack at work and it was alright.  I tried the Almond Dream yogurt the other day and it was better.  I am trying to add more good bacteria into my diet with yogurt and other foods but I can’t have regular yogurt so I am trying out the alternatives. Yogurt - USE

Today flew by at work and I have barely mentioned anything about Wedding Wednesday.  Well as I mentioned earlier, we got our honeymoon booked!  We I wanted to get it taken care of now while there are several deals for booking way in advance.  That is one of the fun parts of the wedding but it’s time to concentrate on caterers, photographers and save the dates now.

Save the Dates:

Save the Dates are VERY important if you are having an out of town wedding or you have guests that have to travel.  Giving people time to plan and save is not only helpful but very much appreciated by your guests.

Happy planning!!
